About Us:
Sarah Lomax
Sarah is the owner of the business
and her mother Sue is the chief advisor. Their love of goldwork can be seen in
each piece of work crafted by them.
My love of goldwork started whilst
watching my mum for many years, designing clothes and creating the goldwork
banner for my primary school.
At the age of 14, I took Textiles
GCSE, at which I achieved the highest grade ( A ). I also attained Art A level
and over the years have developed my interests in embroidery and sewing by
making my own clothes and patterns. During this time I have achieved a degree in
business and financial management and I am now a Chartered Accountant.

Hinde
I have been involved in goldwork
embroidery for over 30 years and have been embroidering since I was 10 years
old, dress making at 14 and tailoring at 24. I achieved a City & Guild at 32,
which I gained over a 5 year period. Then at the age of 50 I took another City &
Guilds in Embroidery and Design
Being an Embroiderers Guild member
and recommended tutor, I enjoy running classes and lecturing with my daughter,
whilst passing my knowledge and skills onto her. I am a founder member of "Rhuddlan
Goldworkers and Future Sutures" The Rhuddlan embroidery group.
of which Sue is the inspiration and
founder member, appeared in a recent copy of the Workbox.
It was a good review, with some
beautiful photographs of the work produced by the group.
Having been a Goldworker for over 30
years, I have produced works such as a banner for my
childrens school for Walking Day, to
artistic pieces and commissions. I have exhibited in
the Houses of Parliament, Alexandra
Palace and Harrogate, winning the prestigious Coats
Anchor Award twice, this being the
most popular piece voted for by the visitors to the exhibition.
