Goldwork wire beading needle (code N1).

This is a size 9 - betweens needle.

This needle is ideal for sewing through the hollow wires.

We prefer to actual name the needle for what purpose you use it for instead of what it actually is as this can confuse.

History of needles.
The first ever needles were made of flint and then bone which could be made allot smaller that flint. Sewing was mainly primitive being larger holes through skin.

The oldest iron sewing needle was found in Germany dating back to 300 B.C. But the Egyptians made then from silver, copper and bronze before this.

Needle making came over to England in around the 17th Century and it was a small cottage industry, run by families, the majority of these needle makers were in the town of Redditch.

Although the cottage industry of needle making has gone, our needles are still manufactured in the UK.
